Our history

Formatec was founded in 1989 by Per Swartz and Jonny Mejdahl, when laser printers began replacing older printing technologies. As laser-printed sheets were incompatible with traditional sealing machines, Formatec developed an innovative sealing technology using heat and pressure.

Since then, Formatec has delivered solutions worldwide. Many systems are customized with features such as camera reading, inline feeding, and other customer-specific adaptations. Formatec technologies support both continuous form and cut-sheet printing.

With a complementary product portfolio for form handling and paper flow optimization, Formatec has represented innovation, flexibility, and engineering expertise for more than three decades.
